Responsibilities

Communications and media
Providing technical communications support to 33 AMREF Projects, consultants and AMREF supported secretariats through:
  • Coordinating the production of Information, Communication and Education (IEC) and publicity materials for projects. This includes messaging and layout using Adobe publishing software’s and supervising their production.
  • Documenting, reporting and highlighting of organizational and project activities including development of donor reports, highlighting human interest stories and sharing of best practices
  • Responsible for the content and design on the AMREF in Kenya e-newsletter
  • Assisting in researching, development, editing and presentation of various publications including project profiles, monthly reports, Monitoring and Evaluation reports and other documents as required.
  • Assisting in photo and video documentation of projects activities and providing technical support for to consultants hired by the foundation
  • Ensuring proper use of the AMREF brand by AMREF staff, consultants and suppliers.
  • Compiling monthly reports, donor reports and progress reports.
  • Distributing of various reports such as annual reports to AMREFs stakeholders.

Fundraising    
  • Assisting in developing innovative fundraising tools aimed at maximizing     funding potential of the foundation, such as shopping lists-simplified fundraising tools aimed at small donors.
  • Traveling to field offices to file human interest pieces for fundraising purposes and identify funding gaps or new funding opportunities.

Media and Events    
  • Ensuring proper media coverage of all AMREF in Kenya events and activities through timely preparation and dissemination of media invites press releases and media kits. 
  • Planning and executing fundraising events, special events and forums including stakeholders meetings, donor and board visit.
  •  Developing and maintaining contacts with the media i.e.  Liaising with the media for coverage of events in AMREF.

Administrative functions
  • Administrative support; filing, documentation, keeping records of events, taking minutes during meetings, receiving and dispatching letters, emails, faxes and telephone calls, scanning and  ensuring the office is well stocked with the necessary stationery
  • Provide administrative/secretarial support for various departments/divisions such as answering telephones, assisting visitors and resolving a range of administrative problems and inquiries.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, interviews, appointments, events and other similar activities for supervisors, which also includes travel and lodging arrangements
